Kawana Waters State College is a place where each student's individuality is valued and nurtured, where each student is encouraged to aspire and achieve their goals. It is a place where students can be comfortable and happy, feel safe and welcome, yet be challenged and inspired. It is a place where everyone is valued and respected for the unique skills and talents that they bring.

Kawana Waters State College promotes and enjoys a unique culture of belonging, wellbeing and inclusion for all our students. Our core values of RESPECT, EXCELLENCE, DIVERSITY and ENJOYMENT are a focus in all areas of school life, both inside and outside the classroom, as well as in the way our students actively engage in our local community.

We believe strongly in supporting Student's wellbeing to ensure they are able to participate fully in school life. For all students to feel safe, supported and encouraged we have a network of support personnel who provide individualised care. You can contact the team through the Head of Department on the Secondary Campus (54369343) to discuss your child's social/emotional development.

 

Our specialist support staff include:

  • Head of Department - Student Services
  • Guidance officers x 3 (1 on Primary Campus, 2 on Secondary Campus)
  • Student Wellbeing Psychologist
  • School Based Youth Health Nurse
  • School Based Police Officer
  • Chaplain
  • Attendance Officer
  • Youth Worker

    On the Secondary Campus students are supported through the following programs:
  • a Share the Dignity Vending Machine located in Student Services
  • Support Programs including:
    • SHINE (Year 7)
    • CTC (Year 8)
    • Smashed Alcohol Education (Yr 8)
    • Blue Edge (Yrs 9-11)
    • Rebecca (Yrs 10-11)
    • Rules and Relationships (Yrs 10-11)
    • Booyah Respect program (Yr 10)
    • AntiBullying Presentations (Yrs 7,8)
    • Think You Know Cybersafety (Yrs 7-9)
    • TRUE Relationships Presentations (Yrs 7-10)
    • Targeted Guest speakers across all Year levels
  • Promotion and celebration of days of action including Bullying No Way, RU OK, Wear it Purple and Mental Health Week.
